Elevating Recovery Capital with

Peer Mentor & Recovery Coach Support

WHAT IS RECOVERY CAPITAL?

Recovery Capital refers to the total resources a person can draw on to initiate and sustain recovery from substance use and related challenges. These resources include personal strengths (such as coping skills, health, and motivation), social supports (like family, friends, and recovery communities), and community resources (including employment, housing, education, and healthcare). At Elk, we help clients build their recovery capital by strengthening what’s already working in their lives and connecting them with new opportunities, supports, and services—because the more recovery capital someone has, the greater their ability to heal and to maintain lasting health, wellness and stability.

WHO IS KE'NEKT?

Elk is proud to partner with Ke’nekt, a trusted provider of peer mentor and recovery coach services, to broaden the support we have available to clients on their recovery journey.

Through this collaboration, our clients gain access to trained peer professionals, humans with lived experience in recovery - who understand the challenges and victories that come with overcoming addiction.

These mentors and coaches walk alongside clients - offering encouragement, accountability, and practical guidance tailored to each client’s goals.

WHY RECOVERY COACHES MATTER

Recovery coaches are an essential part of a holistic recovery team. They:

  • Build Trust & Hope: By sharing their own recovery experiences, they inspire confidence that lasting change is possible.

  • Offer Practical Guidance: Help clients navigate treatment, community resources, employment, housing, and other life needs.

  • Enhance Engagement: Bridge the gap between formal treatment and daily life, reducing the risk of relapse.

  • Support Whole-Person Wellness: Encourage healthy routines, community involvement, and long-term recovery planning.

By integrating Ke’nekt’s peer mentors and recovery coaches into our programs, Elk ensures that clients receive consistent, real-world support that complements counseling, case management, and—when needed—medical treatment. This partnership reflects our belief that no one should have to recover alone.
